Wella Professionals Pro+ Ultimate Smooth Glass Liquid Layer is a leave-in smoothing spray for salon use and the product behind Wella's Glass Liquid Layer service: a finishing mist that helps seal and smooth the cuticle for frizz control and humidity resistance that, according to Wella, holds past the client's next wash.
The bottle is marked "exclusively for professionals", and Wella presents the service as available in Wella salons only. It slots into an Ultimate Smooth wash at the basin: cleanse with Ultimate Smooth Shampoo, condition with Ultimate Smooth Conditioner, then mist the Liquid Layer section by section through clean, damp hair and blow-dry. Nothing is rinsed out and there is no mixing or development time, so it adds only a few minutes to a regular appointment.
The formula carries the squalane and omega-9 technology used across the Ultimate Smooth range. Wella describes it as working on two levels: nourishing inside the fibre while forming a protective barrier on the surface, which is where the glassy, sealed finish comes from.
