WEEKENDER Shampoo is a clarifying shampoo built to strip out product buildup, chlorine, hard-water minerals, and everyday residue that a regular shampoo leaves behind, without the stripped-out feel some clarifying formulas leave on hair.

It's meant as a weekly reset rather than a daily cleanser — like most clarifying shampoos, using it too often can pull moisture out along with the buildup. Its lead cleanser is a milder alternative to traditional sulfates, paired with a coconut-derived cleanser and a small amount of smoothing conditioner to soften the deep-clean effect; rice and vegetable proteins are also included to support strand strength. It's safe for color-processed hair and extensions when used as directed.

  • Vegan and cruelty-free
  • Free of parabens, added salt, and traditional sulfates
  • Mandarin-lemon scent

For a routine reset, lather once on wet hair and rinse; for a deeper protein-strengthening step, leave the lather in for 5 to 6 minutes before rinsing and following with conditioner.

For anyone dealing with buildup from styling products, chlorine, or hard water — including people with color-treated hair or extensions, since the brand states it's safe for both when used as directed. It's a consumer at-home shampoo, not a professional-only formula.

Not meant to replace a daily shampoo. Because it's a clarifying formula, it's intended for weekly (or as-needed) use rather than every wash day.

Its role is narrow and specific: a once-a-week reset for buildup, chlorine, and hard-water minerals that a normal shampoo can't fully clear, using a gentler surfactant system than older-style clarifying shampoos so it doesn't leave hair feeling as stripped afterward.

  • Apply to wet hair and lather thoroughly
  • Rinse well, and repeat if needed
  • Follow with a UNITE conditioner and styling products
  • For a protein-strengthening treatment, leave the lather in hair for 5 to 6 minutes, then rinse and condition immediately
  • Use about once a week, or as needed for buildup — not intended as an everyday shampoo

Pros

  • Removes chlorine, hard-water minerals, and product buildup that a daily shampoo can't
  • Softer cleansing system than an SLS/SLES-based clarifying shampoo, so it's less likely to leave hair feeling stripped
  • Safe for color-treated hair and extensions when used as directed
  • Vegan, cruelty-free, and paraben-free

Cons

  • Not intended for daily use — overusing a clarifying shampoo can dry out hair and scalp
  • Contains several fragrance-allergen components (limonene, linalool, hexyl cinnamal, citronellol)
  • 'Sulfate-free' refers to traditional sulfates specifically; the primary surfactant is still a sulfonate-type cleanser
