All three formulas are built on citric acid and Redken's Bonding Care Complex, which the brand says helps reinforce weakened bonds inside hair that has been coloured, lightened or heat styled. The acidic, pH-balancing formulas also help protect colour vibrancy. Redken reports that the shampoo and conditioner used together give 56% less breakage and 9x smoother hair compared with a non-conditioning shampoo.
The shampoo cleanses without sulfates, and the conditioner is a rich, intensive formula for lengths and ends. The leave-in finishes the routine: it smooths frizz, conditions, and protects against heat up to 230 °C, so it can go on before blow-drying or flat ironing. The 30 ml tube is a good way to try it before buying the full size.
