It's a daily-use salon shampoo that works fine at home, with no special technique needed.

Damaged hair loses its smooth outer layer, so it tangles, frizzes and feels dry however much conditioner you use. This shampoo starts the repair at the wash itself: mild cleansers keep you from stripping what's left, while murumuru butter and argan oil put softness back in before you've even reached for conditioner.

• Apply to damp hair and work into a lather.

It cleans without the tight, stripped feeling of a sulfate shampoo, and the murumuru butter leaves dry ends softer and less frizzy. The sulfate-free base is also kinder to colour-treated hair.

It lathers less than a sulfate shampoo, so heavy styling product or oil may need a second wash. It contains methylisothiazolinone, which some people with sensitive scalps avoid. It's a nourishing shampoo, so very fine or oily hair may find it too rich.
