Butter Whip is a whipped, aerosol styling mousse made for curly and wavy hair that needs definition and flexible hold without a crunchy or sticky feel. The foam is built around mango seed butter and Theobroma grandiflorum (cupuaçu) seed butter, along with moringa seed oil, to help soften hair and add shine as it dries.
Hold comes from Polyquaternium-69 and a VP/VA copolymer, a lighter, more flexible styling system than the stiffer resins used in many curl gels, so curls stay bouncy rather than stiff. The formula also includes hydrolyzed pea and vegetable proteins, mineral-fortified PCAs (sodium, magnesium, zinc, manganese), and a mix of plant extracts — nettle, mallow flower, meadowfoam seed oil, sunflower seed oil, and cactus leaf — included mainly for conditioning and shine.
Because it dispenses as a foam rather than a liquid gel, it's easier to distribute evenly through curls and waves without overloading any one section, helping avoid the stiff cast some liquid gels can leave behind. To use, shake the can well, then dispense a golf-ball-sized amount into your palm. Distribute it evenly through damp, detangled hair from roots to ends, scrunching into curls or waves as you go, then diffuse on low heat or let hair air-dry.
