Paul Mitchell Platinum Blonde Violet Shampoo is a purple toning shampoo for light to medium blonde, silver, grey and white hair, using a violet tint to cancel unwanted brassy and yellow tones while it cleanses.

Gentle enough for weekly use, it adds moisture and softens strands as it brightens. Leaving it on for one to five minutes lets you control how much toning you get: shorter for a light refresh, longer for more noticeable brassiness. For stronger correction on medium to dark or very warm blondes, Paul Mitchell points to Platinum Plus Deep Violet Shampoo or the Platinum Plus Violet Toning Drops.

Natural or colour-treated blondes with light to medium blonde hair, plus silver, grey and white hair that picks up a yellow cast. It is a retail toning shampoo for home use between salon visits.

Blonde and grey hair turns warm over time, and a violet shampoo is the simplest fix. This one is deliberately balanced: it tones enough to keep hair bright and cool while adding moisture and softness, and it is gentle enough for weekly use. Timing the leave-on period gives you control over the result.

Massage into wet hair and allow to remain on the hair for 1 to 5 minutes. Rinse. Repeat as needed. Follow with Platinum Blonde Violet Conditioner.
