Because the hold is ultra strong, it isn't meant for soft, natural movement. It can be used on damp or dry hair with just your fingers, so no special technique is required.

• On damp hair: apply a small amount to towel-dried hair, blow-dry while styling with your fingers, then sculpt as desired.
• On dry hair: apply a small amount and sculpt with your fingers.

Play Tough's strength is that it gives you time to work: it stays non-sticky and flexible while you shape, then locks into ultra strong, waterproof control once it sets. That makes it a good fit for defined, sculpted looks that need to last.

The trade-off is stiffness. It won't give soft or touchable movement, and it's a previous-generation product, so availability may be limited going forward.
