IGORA VARIO BLOND Cool Lift is for licensed colorists working in a professional salon on clients with natural or previously colored (non-bleached) dark-to-medium hair who want a cool, ash-toned blonde lift. It is not intended for at-home or DIY colouring, and it should not be used on clients whose hair is already light blonde, previously bleached, or otherwise chemically sensitized.

For a colorist lifting natural or color-treated dark hair, mixing a separate cool toner after bleaching adds an extra step and a second point where the tone can go wrong. Cool Lift folds that neutralization into the lightening step itself, along with bond protection that a standard powder lightener doesn't include on its own, which is the main reason it gets reached for instead of a plain bleach mix.

1. Combine 10–15 ml of IGORA VARIO BLOND Cool Lift with 35 g of IGORA VARIO BLOND Plus or Super Plus powder lightener and 50 ml of IGORA Royal Oil Developer, mixing to a smooth, creamy consistency.
2. Apply off-scalp only, to dry, unwashed hair — typically through foils or a balayage technique.
3. Process for 20 to 60 minutes, checking lift periodically; timing depends on the level of lift required.
4. Rinse thoroughly and follow with an appropriate bond-care or conditioning treatment.
5. Do not apply to the scalp, and do not use on hair that is already light blonde or previously bleached.

Cool Lift's main advantage is that it delivers lift and cool-tone neutralization in a single step, so a colorist can skip mixing and applying a separate toner after lightening. Its integrated bonding technology is also designed to reduce breakage compared with a plain powder bleach mix, and its creme consistency makes it easier to control on the foil than a loose powder alone.

The trade-off is that it can't be used straight from the tube — it has to be professionally mixed with the correct powder lightener and developer ratio to work as intended. It's also restricted to off-scalp application, and it isn't safe to use on hair that is already bleached or very light blonde.
