AG Hard Jel Extra-Firm Hold is an alcohol-free, water-soluble styling gel built for maximum control on hard-to-manage hair, including classic slicked-back looks. It sets with an extra-firm hold that resists humidity without flaking, building up, or leaving a stiff, sticky residue once dry, and it rinses out cleanly with a normal wash.

The formula is vegan and cruelty-free, sulfate- and paraben-free, and includes panthenol and a blend of herbal extracts (yarrow, calendula, chamomile, rosemary, sage and nettle among them) intended to add moisture and shine alongside the hold. It is not an all-natural product — it also contains synthetic film-forming polymers and silicone derivatives that do the actual holding work.
