Blacklight Neu:Vio Violet Shampoo is a violet toning shampoo from Oligo's Blacklight Blonde Science line that gently cleanses light blonde, platinum and white hair while neutralizing yellow tones.

Violet sits opposite yellow on the colour wheel, so the pigment in this shampoo cancels the brassy, straw-like cast that lighter blondes can develop over time. Oligo says it removes up to 100% of yellow tones and refreshes faded highlights. Squalane, moringa oil, açai extract and argan oil help lock in moisture and smooth the hair's surface, so toning doesn't leave lightened hair feeling rough.

Lather it into damp hair and leave it on for 1 to 5 minutes before rinsing; a shorter time gives a light refresh, a longer one more correction. Oligo notes results last up to 3 regular shampoos, and that on porous, pre-lightened hair it can be mixed with the Blacklight HYD or REP shampoo to control how much colour deposits.

Recommended for lighter blonde hair as well as highlighted, coloured, natural blonde and white hair that has developed yellow tones. Follow with the Neu:Vio Violet Conditioner or a mask. Made in Canada.

Light blonde, platinum, highlighted, natural blonde and white or grey hair that has developed yellow tones. Oligo recommends it for lighter blondes and for white hair that has turned yellow.

It is a take-home toning shampoo; the brand advises keeping an eye on the hair while it processes, especially on porous or pre-lightened hair. Darker blondes and light brunettes whose brass is orange will get more from the Neu:Blu blue shampoo.

Violet shampoos are easy to overdo, either leaving hair dull and lilac or drying out already fragile lightened ends. This one gives control: a flexible 1 to 5 minute leave-on time, the option of diluting with Oligo's hydrating or repair shampoo on porous hair, and a conditioning blend of squalane with moringa, açai and argan oils so the hair keeps its softness and shine. Paired with the Neu:Vio Violet Conditioner, it keeps lighter blondes and white hair bright between salon toners.

Apply to damp hair and lather evenly.

Leave on for 1 to 5 minutes, then rinse. Processing time is a guideline only; watch the hair while it sits. Follow with conditioner or a mask, such as the Neu:Vio Violet Conditioner.

On porous, pre-lightened hair, it can be diluted with Blacklight HYD or REP shampoo for deposit control. Results last up to 3 regular shampoos. May stain nails. Avoid contact with eyes.
