L'Oréal Professionnel Metal Detox Anti-Metal Cleansing Cream Shampoo is a sulfate-free cream shampoo that removes metal particles, such as the copper carried in tap water, from the hair to cut the risk of breakage and colour shift. It is the cleansing step of the Série Expert Metal Detox system.
Metals in water settle into the hair wash after wash. Inside the fibre they weaken it and can react during colour, balayage or lightening, which shows up as breakage, unwanted reflects and colour that fades or turns. The formula is built on Glicoamine, a patented molecule that L'Oréal says is small enough to reach metal inside the fibre and neutralize it.
The texture is a rich cleansing cream that opens into a dense foam and rinses easily, with a citrus top note over musky woods. L'Oréal recommends it for every hair type and texture: colour-treated, bleached, damaged and natural hair. In L'Oréal's instrumental tests of the shampoo with the Metal Detox mask, hair was stronger, smoother and nourished for 72 hours, 2x shinier, and held its colour longer.
