Barbicide Anti-Rust Formula is an EPA-registered, hospital-grade disinfectant concentrate built for salons and barbershops, formulated with a built-in rust inhibitor so it doesn't corrode the stainless steel and metal implements it's used to disinfect. It's a broad-spectrum sanitation product — labeled as a germicide, fungicide, virucide and pseudomonacide — not a hair-care or skin-care formula.
The concentrate is diluted 2 fl oz into 32 fl oz of cold water to make the working disinfecting solution. Implements should be pre-cleaned (free of hair and debris) before being fully submerged for 10 minutes of wet contact time, then rinsed with clean water and dried. Because the diluted solution loses effectiveness with use and visible soiling, it should be replaced daily. It's formulated for hard, non-porous surfaces — combs, brushes, shears, and other metal or plastic tools — without the staining or corrosion that a plain quaternary disinfectant can cause on blades over repeated daily soaking.
This is a maintenance and sanitation product for barbers, cosmetologists, estheticians and nail technicians meeting state board disinfection requirements, not a formulated hair, skin or body product.
