Smoother Straightening Balm is a leave-in styling balm formulated to reduce frizz and support a smoother, straighter finish when blow-dried, though it can also be used to calm frizz on air-dried or diffused curls and waves. It's built around African shea butter for moisture, hydrolyzed coix (Job's tears) seed extract and mangosteen fruit extract to help calm the hair's texture and add shine, plus keratin amino acids, panthenol, and evening primrose oil for conditioning.
Cationic conditioning agents (cetrimonium chloride, cetrimonium bromide, stearalkonium chloride) help detangle and smooth the cuticle, while several silicone derivatives add slip and a polished finish, and a UV-absorbing ingredient is included to help protect hair color and the cuticle from sun exposure. Because it's a lightweight, greaseless balm rather than a heavy cream, it suits normal-to-thick, wavy, or curly hair that turns frizzy or resistant to smoothing during blow-drying, rather than very fine hair that could feel weighed down.
To use for a straight, blown-out look, work a small amount through damp, towel-dried hair — concentrating on mid-lengths and ends — comb through to distribute evenly and detangle, then blow-dry with a round or flat brush for maximum smoothness. For a softer, frizz-controlled wave or curl instead, apply the same way to damp hair and diffuse or let it air-dry rather than blow-drying straight.
