Joico K-Pak Reconstructing Shampoo is a color-safe shampoo for damaged and chemically treated hair, built around hydrolyzed keratin and Joico's SmartRelease liposome delivery system. The keratin targets broken points along the hair shaft, while the liposomes gradually release rosehip oil, arginine, and additional keratin as the shampoo rinses out.

Guajava (guava) fruit extract and evening primrose oil round out the formula, adding antioxidant support against everyday UV and styling stress. The cleansing base uses sodium laureth sulfate, so it produces a full lather rather than the gentler foam of a sulfate-free shampoo, but it's formulated to be used regularly on compromised strands.

It's intended for dry or damaged hair — including hair that's been bleached, colored, or heat-styled — and it's safe for color-treated hair.
