Joico Color Balance Purple Shampoo is a color-depositing purple shampoo formulated to neutralize brassy, yellow, and orange tones in blonde, lightened, gray, and silver hair. Violet pigments in the formula sit on the hair's surface and counteract warmth using basic color theory, leaving cool-toned blonde or gray hair looking less yellow between salon color services.

The formula pairs Joico's Bio-Advanced Peptide Complex with SmartRelease Technology, a liposome delivery system that continuously releases rosehip oil, arginine, and hydrolyzed keratin to help offset the dryness that purple/toning shampoos can sometimes cause. It also contains UV filters intended to help protect color from sun-related fading.

Apply to wet hair, lather, and leave in for 1–3 minutes depending on how much toning is needed, then rinse. Because it's pigmented, processing time should be watched closely on lighter or previously-toned hair to avoid over-depositing violet tone. Use 2–3 times a week, alternating with a regular shampoo, and follow with Color Balance Purple Conditioner.
