Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Wild Ginger HydroMist Blowout Spray is a volumizing prep spray that sets hair up for a smooth, full blowout with weightless, long-lasting hold. It is sprayed into towel-dried hair before blow-drying.

Paul Mitchell says it boosts volume and hydrates strands, while hand-harvested awapuhi extract and honey extract help balance moisture and eliminate frizz, and lightweight conditioners help protect against blow-drying damage. It is made with the brand's KeraTriplex technology, suits all hair types, and is listed as color safe and paraben free. The scent is tropical ginger, green tea and mango.

For: all hair types; round-brush and volume blowouts
Hold: weightless, long-lasting
Size: 5.1 oz (150 ml)

Anyone who blow-dries and wants more volume and a smoother result that lasts, without stiff or sticky hold. Paul Mitchell lists it for all hair types; fine or flat hair gets the most lift from it.

It works well as a salon blowout prep and is easy to use at home before a round-brush blow-dry.

A blowout that falls flat by lunchtime usually lacks a prep product that holds shape through the heat. HydroMist is designed for that step: volumizing polymers give lift and weightless hold, while awapuhi and honey extracts help keep frizz down and hair hydrated. The result is a fuller, smoother blow-dry that feels soft rather than coated.

Towel-dry hair.
Apply to the roots.
Spray throughout the hair for amplified volume.
Blow-dry and style.

Pros:

Builds volume at the root and through the lengths.
Weightless hold, so the blowout keeps its shape without feeling stiff.
Conditioners help protect against blow-drying damage, per Paul Mitchell.
Color safe and paraben free.

Cons:

Designed for blow-drying; it does little for air-dried styles.
No temperature-rated heat protection claim, so use a dedicated protectant before hot irons.
Contains fragrance and fragrance allergens.
