L'ANZA Healing Smooth Glossifying Shampoo is a paraben-free, gluten-free daily shampoo formulated to cleanse hair while smoothing frizz and adding shine, part of L'ANZA's Healing Smooth line for frizz control. Its cleansing base of Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate, and Cocamide MIPA is combined with Soap Bark (Entada Phaseoloides, also known as Gugo Bark) Extract for lather and Garcinia Mangostana (Mangosteen) Fruit Extract for shine.

The formula also includes keratin amino acids, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Extract, and a blend of amino-acid PCA complexes (Sodium, Magnesium, Zinc, and Manganese PCA) intended to support manageability and moisture retention. It's intended for frizz-prone or dry hair that would benefit from a smoother, glossier finish, and is typically followed with L'ANZA's matching Healing Smooth Glossifying Conditioner.

  • 10.1 fl oz / 300 mL bottle
  • Paraben-free, gluten-free formula
  • Contains Mangosteen Fruit Extract and Soap Bark (Gugo) Extract

People with frizz-prone or dry hair who want a smoother, glossier finish from their everyday shampoo, including those working toward a smoother, straighter-looking blow-dry or style. It's also a paraben-free, gluten-free option for anyone avoiding those ingredients in a shampoo.

The shampoo pairs Mangosteen Fruit Extract for shine with Soap Bark (Gugo) Extract for lather, and adds keratin amino acids, shea butter, and sunflower seed extract aimed at improving manageability, while leaving out parabens and gluten. That combination targets frizz and dullness specifically, rather than acting as a general all-purpose cleansing shampoo.

  • Wet hair thoroughly.
  • Apply the shampoo and massage into a lather, focusing on the scalp.
  • Rinse thoroughly.
  • This formula produces a lighter lather than a traditional sulfate shampoo — re-wet and massage again if you need more lather to work through product buildup.
  • Follow with L'ANZA Healing Smooth Glossifying Conditioner for the full smoothing system.

Pros:

  • Paraben-free and gluten-free formula
  • Combines Mangosteen Fruit Extract and Soap Bark (Gugo) Extract, ingredients specific to this smoothing line rather than a generic cleanser
  • Cruelty-free brand

Cons:

  • Produces a noticeably lighter lather than a sulfate-based shampoo, which some users read as 'not cleaning enough'
  • Best results come from pairing it with the matching conditioner, so it may not be a complete one-bottle solution for frizz
  • 300 mL is a relatively small bottle size for daily use at this price point
