Biolage Color Last Conditioner is a low-pH rinse-out conditioner for color-treated hair, built on micro-dosed soybean oil and stearic acid to preserve salon color while detangling and adding shine. Paired with Color Last Shampoo, Biolage says it helps prevent color fade for up to 4 weeks.

Stearic acid forms a lightweight veil around each strand, a protective barrier against the everyday aggressors that dull color, while filtered soybean oil nourishes, smooths and seals moisture into hair that coloring or lightening has left dry. Conditioning agents such as behentrimonium chloride and cetearyl alcohol make wet hair easier to comb through, and the formula also contains cupuacu seed butter.

  • Low-pH conditioner that preserves salon color while conditioning
  • Soybean oil and stearic acid for moisture, smoothness and shine
  • Vegan, paraben-free, mineral-oil-free and colorant-free
  • Bottle and cap made with 100% recycled plastic; Leaping Bunny approved

Leave it on for 1 to 3 minutes after shampooing, then rinse. Sold in 13.5 oz (400 ml) and 33.8 oz (1000 ml).

For color-treated hair of any length: permanent and demi-permanent color, highlights and lightened hair that is starting to feel dry or look dull between salon visits. Biolage positions the Color Last system for fine through thick hair.

It is a daily rinse-out conditioner for home use, meant to follow Color Last Shampoo. It is not a toner and will not correct brassiness; for that, the line has Color Last Purple Shampoo.

A regular conditioner softens hair; this one is designed around keeping color in. Its low pH is kind to the cuticle after coloring, stearic acid leaves a lightweight protective veil on the strand, and soybean oil restores moisture to hair that color services have dried out. That combination is what lets Biolage claim up to 4 weeks of fade protection when it is used with Color Last Shampoo.

It is a straightforward swap for your current conditioner if you want salon color to stay rich and shiny for longer.

  • After shampooing, ideally with Color Last Shampoo, massage into wet hair
  • Leave in for 1 to 3 minutes
  • Rinse thoroughly

Pros

  • Low pH, which suits freshly colored hair
  • Stearic acid coats strands in a light protective layer rather than a heavy film
  • Detangles well thanks to behentrimonium chloride and fatty alcohols
  • Quick 1 to 3 minute leave-on time

Cons

  • Contains a silicone, so not for silicone-free routines
  • A daily conditioner, not an intensive mask for badly damaged or bleached hair
  • The 4-week fade claim depends on also using Color Last Shampoo
