Biolage Hydra Source Daily Leave-In Cream is a no-rinse moisturizing cream for dry hair, built on the Hydra Source hydration concentrate of fermented aloe and micro-filtered hyaluronic acid. It softens and smooths without weighing hair down, and in Biolage's testing it reduced frizz by 84% after one use (compared with a non-conditioning shampoo).

Beyond adding moisture, the cream conditions the lengths, seals split ends and helps repair their appearance, helps prevent breakage and boosts shine, so dry hair finishes sleek and soft. Biolage recommends it for fine to medium hair, and it is suitable for color-treated hair.

Apply to damp hair starting at the ends and working up toward the roots, comb through and style without rinsing. It is the leave-in step of the Hydra Source routine, after the shampoo and Conditioning Balm. 6.8 oz (200 ml) tube, which replaces the earlier pump bottle with the same formula.

Dry hair that feels rough or frizzy or is prone to split ends, in fine to medium textures. Biolage designs the Hydra Source line for this hair type, and the cream is suitable for color-treated hair.

It is an everyday home product with nothing to mix or time. Very dry, thick or coarse hair is better matched with the richer Ultra Hydra Source Daily Leave-In Cream, while anyone who prefers a spray can use the Hydra Source Daily Leave-In Tonic.

Dry hair tends to frizz and split at the ends because it loses moisture between washes. This cream stays on the hair after rinsing out the conditioner, combining the line's aloe and hyaluronic acid concentrate with smoothing conditioners that seal split ends and calm frizz. The result is hydration you can feel without the heaviness of a butter-rich cream, which is why it suits finer textures that a mask or balm would flatten.

After shampooing and conditioning, squeeze a small amount into your hands.

Apply to damp hair beginning at the ends and work up toward the roots.

Comb through to distribute evenly. Do not rinse, and style as usual.

Biolage pairs it with Hydra Source Shampoo and Conditioning Balm.

Pros

  • Biolage measured 84% less frizz after a single use
  • Works on split ends and breakage as well as dryness
  • Light enough for fine to medium hair, unlike heavier butter-based creams
  • Suitable for color-treated hair

Cons

  • Silicone-based (dimethicone, amodimethicone), so it does not suit silicone-free routines
  • Contains fragrance and several listed fragrance allergens
  • May not be rich enough for very dry, coarse hair
