Pureology Smooth Perfection Shampoo is a sulfate-free smoothing shampoo for frizz-prone, color-treated hair that cleanses while taming frizz and flyaways for softer, more manageable hair.

Its conditioning comes from camellia seed oil and shea butter, with vitamin E, backed by silicones that smooth the hair surface and add shine. Cleansing is handled by Pureology's ZeroSulfate system instead of SLS or SLES, and the patented Antifade Complex helps protect color. The scent is an aromatherapy blend of cocoa, marshmallow and woody accords.

Apply a dime-sized amount to wet hair at the scalp, lather and work it down to the ends, then rinse. Repeat for extra cleansing, and follow with Smooth Perfection Conditioner. Sold in 266 ml and 1 litre sizes.

For color-treated hair that frizzes: wavy, curly, thick or coarse hair that puffs up, feels rough or is hard to smooth when blow-drying. It is an everyday shampoo for home use.

Very fine or oily hair may find the oils, shea butter and silicones too much; a lighter formula such as Pure Volume suits fine hair better.

Frizz usually starts in the wash: a harsh shampoo roughs up the hair surface, and dry, color-treated hair is the first to show it. Smooth Perfection starts the smoothing at that step. Its sulfate-free base cleans without stripping, while camellia seed oil, shea butter and silicones leave the surface smoother and easier to style, so the conditioner and any styling products have less work to do. For colored hair that frizzes, it covers smoothing and color protection in one shampoo.

Apply a dime-sized amount to wet hair at the scalp.
Lather and work down to the ends.
Rinse. For extra cleansing, repeat.
