amika Velveteen Dream Smoothing Balm is a leave-in styling balm for dry, frizzy or hard-to-manage hair, worked through damp hair before heat styling so the finish stays soft and smooth when the humidity rises. It suits all hair types, 1 through 4c.
A conditioning polymer smooths and moisturizes the hair and cuts static, while wild cherry bark extract brings out shine and softness. amika's signature sea buckthorn, one of the few plant sources of omega-7, adds hydration. The balm also protects hair from heat up to 450°F (232°C) and contains UV filters, so it can go on right before the blow-dryer or flat iron.
amika states it is safe on colour-treated, Brazilian-treated and keratin-treated hair. A small amount is enough, and on fine curls the brand suggests it as a light prep for definition before diffusing.
