Pureology Hydrate Sheer Shampoo is a sulfate-free, silicone-free shampoo that hydrates fine, dry, color-treated hair with a lightweight formula designed to leave no heavy buildup.

It is the fine-hair counterpart to Pureology's Hydrate Shampoo. Where Hydrate is richer and uses lightweight silicones for normal to thick hair, Hydrate Sheer leaves silicones out so finer strands stay soft and bouncy rather than coated. Cleansing comes from Pureology's ZeroSulfate system, a blend of milder surfactants such as sodium cocoyl isethionate and disodium laureth sulfosuccinate instead of SLS or SLES, and the patented Antifade Complex helps protect color. The scent is the Hydrate family's aromatherapy blend of lavender, bergamot and patchouli.

Apply to wet hair, lather and work it down to the ends, then rinse; repeat if you want a deeper cleanse. Follow with Hydrate Sheer Conditioner. Available in 266 ml and 1 litre bottles.

For fine hair that is dry and color-treated: hair that needs moisture but goes flat or greasy-looking under richer hydrating shampoos. It is an everyday shampoo for home use.

If your hair is normal to thick and very dry, Pureology's regular Hydrate Shampoo is the richer option. Fine hair that is not dry may do better with a volumizing shampoo such as Pure Volume.

Fine hair that is also dry is awkward to wash: moisturizing shampoos tend to rely on silicones and rich conditioners that weigh fine strands down, while lightweight shampoos often leave dry ends feeling rough. Hydrate Sheer sits between the two. It keeps the Hydrate line's moisture focus and aromatherapy scent but drops the silicones, so hair is left soft without a coated feel. The ZeroSulfate cleansing base and Antifade Complex make it a sensible daily shampoo for anyone with fine hair who colors it.

Apply to wet hair.
Lather and work down to the ends.
Rinse thoroughly. For extra cleansing, repeat.

Follow with Hydrate Sheer Conditioner.
