The Cream is a lightweight leave-in conditioner and light-hold styling cream in one, from Paul Mitchell’s Soft Style line. It conditions damp hair with jojoba and safflower seed oils and white ginger root extract, then leaves behind just enough hold to shape a soft, touchable style — with a UV filter added to help protect hair color and condition from sun exposure.

Because it’s cream-based rather than resin-based, don’t expect it to hold up like a hairspray or gel; its job is everyday conditioning and a light finish, not firm control.

Its UV filter is a genuine, traceable ingredient (ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate) rather than a vague marketing claim, which makes the sun-protection benefit real rather than incidental. The tradeoff of a cream-based, conditioning-first formula is that the hold is light — it won't substitute for a styling cream built around a hold polymer if you need your style to stay put through the day.
