Biolage Ultra Hydra Source Shampoo is a moisturizing shampoo for very dry hair that is thick or coarse, infused with micro-dosed cold-pressed cupuaçu butter and filtered salicylic acid. It cleanses gently without stripping the hair's essential oils, leaving it soft and supple.

The cupuaçu butter adds hydration and softness, while the salicylic acid helps lift away buildup and impurities so the hair can take on moisture from the conditioner that follows. Biolage says the full Ultra Hydra Source routine (shampoo, conditioner and leave-in cream) helps prevent frizz and flyaways for up to 72 hours. It is suitable for color-treated hair and, like all Biolage products, vegan.

Available in 13.5 oz (400 ml) and a 33.8 oz (1000 ml) litre size.

Very dry hair that is thick to coarse, which is who Biolage designs the Ultra Hydra Source line for, including curly, frizz-prone and color-treated hair.

It is a regular wash-day shampoo with no special technique. Fine or oily hair usually does better with the lighter Hydra Source Shampoo.

Thick, coarse hair that is also very dry tends to feel rougher after a standard shampoo. This one is built for that hair type: it clears buildup with filtered salicylic acid while cupuaçu butter keeps the lengths soft, so hair is ready to absorb the Ultra Hydra Source Conditioner that follows. Used as a three-step routine with the conditioner and leave-in cream, Biolage reports up to 72 hours of frizz and flyaway control.

Apply to wet hair and work into a lather.

Rinse thoroughly.

Follow with Ultra Hydra Source Conditioner and, for more frizz control, Ultra Hydra Source Leave-In Cream.
