Wella Ultimate Repair Mask is a rinse-out hair mask built around AHA and Omega-9, meant to work on hair damage from the inside of the fibre out. The AHA (malic acid) is intended to help rebuild internal bonds, while Omega-9 (from oleic acid and squalane) works on the outside of the hair to smooth the cuticle and cut down on frizz.
It's designed to work across hair types and textures -- fine, medium, or coarse, straight through coily -- anywhere damage, dryness, or frizz is a concern. It's meant to sit alongside Wella's Ultimate Repair shampoo and conditioner as part of a full at-home routine, stepping in for conditioner on treatment days, and Wella reports it makes wet hair noticeably easier to detangle and visibly less frizzy after use.
Apply to clean, damp hair and leave on for 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing thoroughly. For extra smoothing, Wella suggests wrapping a warm towel around the head while the mask sits, then towel-blotting hair afterward, misting with Miracle Hair Rescue leave-in, and combing through before blow-drying.
- AHA and Omega-9 target both internal bonds and the outer cuticle
- Suitable for all hair types and textures, including colour-treated hair
- 5-10 minute leave-on time, used in place of conditioner
