Joico K-PAK Deep-Penetrating Reconstructor is a 5-minute rinse-out treatment that rebuilds and strengthens damaged hair, combining a concentrated blend of amino acids with Joico's keratin technology. It is the product the whole K-PAK line started from.

Joico packs its highest concentration of hair-healing ingredients into this formula. Keratin seeks out damaged areas and helps replace lost proteins, guajava fruit extract adds antioxidant protection against UV damage, evening primrose oil helps nourish, and SmartRelease liposomes release rosehip oil, arginine and keratin to help repair and protect hair from daily styling. In Joico's testing it gave 64% less breakage (against combing breakage on damaged hair, compared with a non-conditioning shampoo).

It's meant for hair that has been over-processed by colour, lightener, chemical services, heat or the environment. It was a Stylist's Choice Award winner every year from 2001 to 2015 and again in 2017. The litre is labelled "3 K-PAK Professional" as step 3 of Joico's K-PAK 4-step Hair Repair System.

Hair that is visibly damaged, brittle or breaking from bleach, colour, perms or relaxers, heat tools or sun exposure, including fine hair that has been over-processed.

The 150 ml tube suits home use as a weekly treatment. The 1 L bottle is the professional size stylists use at the backbar as step 3 of the K-PAK 4-step Hair Repair System.

If hair has been pushed too far by lightener, colour or heat, a regular conditioner mostly smooths the surface. K-PAK Reconstructor is built to rebuild: amino acids and keratin go to the damaged sites, and in Joico's testing it cut breakage by 64%. It has been a stylist favourite for over fifteen years, and it's the same formula salons use in the K-PAK 4-step system.
