This is a backbar, professional-only colorist tool — not a retail product for a client to use unsupervised at home. It's for salons and colorists working on clients whose hair has already been pre-lightened and treated with a direct dye or semi-permanent color (for example vivid fashion shades or pastels) and who want to transition to a different color without waiting for the old shade to fully fade or resorting to harsher stripping methods. It assumes standard colorist knowledge of developer volumes and processing/strand-testing.

The differentiator is that it's purpose-built for direct-dye and semi-permanent pigment specifically, rather than being a general all-purpose color stripper — it gives a colorist a faster, more controlled route from one vivid or pastel Color Intensity shade to the next color service, on hair that's already been pre-lightened, without the additional damage of a full re-bleach.

In a non-metallic bowl, mix one full Color Intensity Eraser packet with 3oz of 10 Volume or 20 Volume Veroxide or LumiShine Developer (use 20 Volume for more vibrant, less-faded Intensity shades; 10 Volume or plain water for pastel or already-faded shades). Using a color brush, apply only to hair that has been pre-lightened and treated with a direct dye or semi-permanent color — do not apply to virgin, demi-permanent, or permanent-color hair. Process for up to 30 minutes at room temperature, checking the strand every 5 minutes until the desired amount of pigment has lifted. Rinse thoroughly with a color-safe shampoo, then follow with a color-safe conditioner.

Pros: targets direct-dye pigment specifically, so a colorist can correct or transition a fashion-color client faster than waiting out multiple wash-fades; developer-volume choice (10 vs 20) gives some control over how aggressively pigment is lifted; short, checkable processing window (up to 30 minutes, checked every 5 minutes) reduces guesswork.

Cons: it only works on hair that's already pre-lightened — it is not a solution for removing demi-permanent or permanent color, so a colorist using it on the wrong service will be disappointed; because it must be mixed with developer, it can't be grabbed and used the way a single-step product can, and result depends on how faded/saturated the existing color already is.
