Murray's Edgewax is an edge-control wax for the hairline, combining a styling gel base with 100% Australian beeswax (cera alba) for hold, rather than being an all-over pomade or gel. The wax structure is reinforced with cyclopentasiloxane (a silicone) and an acrylates/octylacrylamide copolymer plus PVP, film-forming polymers that give it a smooth, high-shine finish and its heavier, longer-lasting hold compared with a plain water-based gel.

Sweet almond oil and several PEG-lanolin derivatives (PEG-12 dimethicone, PEG-20 hydrogenated lanolin, PPG-12-PEG-50 lanolin) are included for slip and emolliency. Because it contains lanolin derivatives, an animal-derived ingredient, this product is not suitable for a vegan routine. It also carries a noticeably heavier fragrance load than a typical gel, with several named fragrance components (hexyl cinnamal, linalool, D-limonene, benzyl salicylate) on the label.

It's designed to be applied directly to the hairline and edges rather than throughout the hair.

An edge-control wax for people with coarser or more resistant hairline hair who need stronger, longer-lasting hold at the edges than a standard water-based edge gel provides. It's a consumer product sold in drugstores/beauty supply stores and used both at home and by barbers/stylists as a finishing step; no professional training is needed. Because of its lanolin content it is not suitable for anyone following a vegan or animal-product-free routine.

The reason to choose this over a lighter edge gel is the added beeswax and silicone system, which gives a firmer, more "set" hold that lasts longer on coarse or resistant hairline hair — a genuine step up in holding power from a plain PEG/Ceteareth gel, at the cost of being heavier and not vegan.

Apply a small amount directly to the hairline, edges, or any other area needing control, and smooth into place with the fingers or a brush. Keep the container's lid tightly closed between uses to prevent the wax from drying out.

Pros: the combined beeswax-plus-silicone-polymer system gives noticeably stronger, longer hold than a plain gel, which suits coarse or heavily textured hairline hair; the silicone content gives a smooth, high-shine finish without a greasy look.

Cons: it is not vegan due to lanolin derivatives; it carries a heavy fragrance load with several named fragrance allergens (hexyl cinnamal, linalool, D-limonene, benzyl salicylate, benzyl alcohol), which is worth noting for anyone with fragrance-sensitive skin; being a wax-gel hybrid, it can be harder to fully rinse out at the end of the day than a lighter water-based edge gel.
