The ghd Rise is a heated round brush that builds root lift and body into dry hair, using a 32 mm barrel ringed with heat-resistant bristles in place of a separate round brush and hot tool. ghd's Ultra-Zone technology holds the barrel at one styling temperature of 185°C (365°F), checking the heat around 250 times a second so it doesn't dip as you work through thicker sections.
Because the bristles grip each section while the barrel heats it, the brush can lift at the root, add bend through the lengths and turn the ends under or out in a single pass. ghd rates it at up to twice the volume from root to tip.
- 32 mm barrel with 5 mm bristles
- One fixed temperature, 185°C (365°F)
- Ready in about 25 seconds
- 2.7 m swivel cord
- Sleep mode after 30 minutes without use
- 2-year warranty
Use it on dry, detangled hair only. It isn't a blow-dry brush and won't dry wet hair. Work in sections no wider than the barrel, hold the brush under the section at the root for a few seconds, then roll it down and out to the ends.
The fixed temperature means there's no lower setting for very fine or fragile hair, so a heat protectant is worth using first.
