Pureology Strength Cure Blonde Conditioner is a violet-pigmented, sulfate-free conditioner made for lightened, highlighted, and colour-treated blonde hair that needs both brass control and structural reinforcement. Its violet pigments deposit onto the hair shaft to counteract the yellow and orange undertones that develop as lifted hair grows out or is exposed to heat, sun, and hard water, while a protein ingredient called Keravis is included to help reinforce the hair's internal structure, which is typically weakened by bleaching or high-lift colour services.
The formula also contains astaxanthin, an antioxidant, and is built around Pureology's Antifade Complex, a UV-filtering system that includes sunflower seed extract intended to reduce the fading effect sunlight has on colour-treated hair. Vitamin E (tocopherol) is included as an additional antioxidant. The conditioner is formulated without sulfates, parabens, or mineral oil, and Pureology markets the Strength Cure Blonde range as 100% vegan.
Because the conditioner deposits colour, how it's used affects the result: it is not designed to lift or lighten hair on its own, and it will not replace an in-salon toning or gloss service if brass has built up significantly. It follows shampooing and is used on mid-lengths and ends, where lightened hair is typically driest and most porous.
