Phyto Novathrix Shampooing Energisant Fortifiant is a fortifying shampoo designed to prepare the scalp before, and run alongside, Phyto's anti-hair-loss treatment line, though it can also be used on its own as a regular shampoo for thin or weakened hair. Its cleansing base is built from mild surfactants (cocamidopropyl betaine, sodium lauroyl sarcosinate) rather than harsher sulfates, so it's less likely to strip away a treatment applied afterward. Three plant extracts are added as the shampoo's positioned actives: guarana (Paullinia Cupana) fruit extract for an energizing effect linked to its natural caffeine content, red algae (hydrolyzed Rhodophyceae) extract, which coats the hair fiber for a visibly thicker feel, and horsetail (Equisetum Arvense) extract, traditionally valued for its fortifying, astringent properties.
It's used with a double-application method: apply to a wet scalp, massage, and rinse, then repeat and leave the second application on for about two minutes before rinsing thoroughly. Phyto doesn't market Novathrix as organic or all-natural — the botanical extracts are actives added into a conventional surfactant base, not the base itself, so it's more accurately described as a gentle, botanically-actived shampoo than a mostly-natural formula.
