Licensed colorists formulating with Matrix SoColor or Color Sync who need to correct or intensify a specific undertone — not intended for consumer or at-home use, since it only works mixed into a base color and developer.

Reformulating an entire color to fix one undertone is inefficient. SoBoost lets a colorist adjust just the tone that's off — too warm, too weak, too brassy — while keeping the rest of the base formula the same.

Mix 3 parts SoColor or Color Sync shade with 1 part SoBoost, then combine with an equal part of Matrix Cream Developer (for example, 1½ oz shade, ½ oz SoBoost, 2 oz Cream Developer). Apply as part of a standard professional color service.

Because each shade targets a specific tonal problem — brassiness, weak red, flat auburn, or overly warm brunette — a colorist can correct a formula precisely instead of switching to a different base shade entirely. The tradeoff is that it only works as an additive: on its own, without a base color and developer, SoBoost does nothing, so it has no use outside a professional color service.
