It is not the better choice for thick, coarse, or very dry/damaged hair that needs more richness — the standard (non-Light) version is formulated for that instead.

The core reason to reach for the Light version rather than a generic hair oil is weight-matching: it was engineered to deliver argan-oil shine and frizz control at a viscosity fine hair can actually carry without going flat or looking oily by midday. That makes it useful both as a lightweight heat-styling primer and as a low-commitment finishing oil for someone who has avoided oil-based stylers because they always felt too heavy.
