People with weak, dry hair that breaks, splits or tangles easily. KMS lists it for all hair types and says it moisturizes without weight, so it works on fine dry hair as well as thicker textures.

It is a regular shampoo for home use, and the 25.3 oz (750 ml) size suits salons using it at the backbar before a repair service.

If your main problem is oily roots or heavy build-up rather than dryness, a clarifying shampoo will be a better match.

This shampoo's strength is moisture without heaviness: it skips silicones and oils but still adds glycerin, panthenol and prickly pear extract, which suits dry hair that goes limp under rich formulas. It is SLS/SLES-free and comes in a salon-size bottle.

The catch is that KMS's headline repair numbers (up to 99% fewer breakage and split ends, 3x easier detangling) are stated for the shampoo used with the Moist Repair treatment, so the shampoo alone shouldn't be expected to deliver them. It also contains fragrance, and it uses sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate as one of its cleansers.
