The 7-row spacing is deliberately tighter than Denman's own detangling variants, letting it grab and hold a section of curl through a twist of the wrist instead of letting strands slip apart, the mechanical basis of the shingling technique. Paired with the anti-static rubber pad, it does double duty as both a curl-shaping tool and a blow-out brush.

Use on wet hair coated with a leave-in conditioner or curl product. Take a small section and either pull the brush straight through for a looser curl clump, or twist the brush a half-turn as you pull it through the section (shingling) to coil the hair into a tighter, more defined ringlet. Follow with a diffuser or low direct airflow while the brush holds the section in place, or let it air-dry. Remove the pad/pin unit from the handle to rinse clean after use.
